This grey pittie asked for a blonde sister
How We Met
Bishop (the grey pittie) belongs to Lindsay, Dr. Lauren's long-time hair stylist. While Lauren was getting her hair styled, Bishop made an unscheduled "mind-to-mind" visit.
The Symbols
Bishop sent images of a small blonde-colored dog. He made it clear he was looking for a companion because he asked for a "sister."
The Outcome
Months passed. About nine months after the connection between Bishop and Lauren, Lindsay heard a knock at the door of her home. She opened the door to see a woman holding a small blonde terrier, and the woman asked, "would you like to have my dog?"
The woman's circumstances had changed and she was forced to give up the dog. She was going door-to-door in the neighborhood looking for a family to accept her pup.
Lindsay said yes immediately and Bishop and Cardi B are now best friends.
Those butterflies? Archer sent them.
How We Met
Dr. Lauren was introduced to Erika, Archer's mom by Lindsay (her long-time hair stylist and Mom to Bishop, in another connection). Erika had recently said goodbye to Archer but was really struggling with the loss. She noticed at the time of his passing that she saw lots of butterflies for a few days and wondered if Archer was responsible for them.
The Symbols
Before her appointment, Erika very seriously "told" Archer, "if you are sending these butterflies to me, please lead Lauren to tell me that during our appointment". And Dr. Lauren did get a clear message from Archer -- the butterflies were his sign. You can hear Erika describe it herself in the podcast linked below, starting at the 25:11 mark.
The Outcome
Erika has enjoyed multiple interactions with butterflies and she is confident that Archer is sending them to her, to prove that he is still with her.
Meet the Parent
Erika Audrey is the host of her own podcast: The Clover Club.
Cricket says she's happy to wait for her forever home
How We Met
Stephanie worked at the shelter where Cricket was a long-time resident. Within days of meeting Cricket, Stephanie knew she wanted to adopt her, but she had a dog at home that would not accept a new dog into the household. Cricket had been waiting in the shelter for a long time, because she has special needs herself, and would need a special family to adopt her. Stephanie wondered if the most compassionate thing might be to euthanize Cricket. She decided to ask Dr. Lauren to ask Cricket what she wanted.
The Symbols
During Dr. Lauren's connection with Cricket, it became clear that Cricket was okay in the shelter and happy to wait until Stephanie could adopt her.
The Outcome
Stephanie's dog - who wouldn't accept a sibling - lived a long time, so Cricket had to wait a while for Stephanie. But now Cricket has her forever home with Stephanie and is very happy with her life. In fact, Stephanie says that Cricket is the happiest dog she has ever had.
Losing two cats within weeks of each other and saving a third
How We Met
16 years ago, Patricia rescued four newborn Maine Coon kittens because their mother had died. Two of the four, Bubba and Ambi had health issues that could not be solved, and Patricia agonized over whether to allow them to pass naturally or to euthanize them. She decided to euthanize Bubba because he was in so much pain, but felt very guilty for the decision.
Patricia was sure that Ambi wanted to pass naturally, and he began to fade immediately after Bubba passed. Patricia reached out to Dr. Lauren to try and get some comfort regarding her decision and what was coming for Ambi.
The Symbols
Ambi told Dr. Lauren that he decided to die naturally because he saw how painful it was for Patricia to make the decision for Bubba. He wanted to spare her having to do that for him. Patricia asked Dr. Lauren to make it clear she wanted what was best for him, and Ambi asked to be euthanized.
Bubba also let Patricia know exactly how he wanted to be remembered. He sent a picture to Lauren of his collar and his toy mouse on a shelf in what is Patricia's office. He made it clear that he wanted a big photo of himself on that same shelf and that no other photos were welcome on that shelf. Patricia had been worried that Bubba was angry at her for the decision she made, but the message of how to memorialize him relieved that guilt and allowed Patricia to heal.
The Outcome
About a week after Ambi passed, another cat, Max, started fading rapidly from something his vet couldn't identify. Patricia again asked Dr. Lauren to check in and she learned that Max was extremely attached to Ambi and was willing himself to die to be with him. Patricia begged him to stay and Dr. Lauren learned that Max wants daily grooming and lots of special attention. A year has passed and Max is doing fine.
